Can your physical resources deliver your business goals?
Will your current approach to management of physical resources deliver on your business goals? If you are having trouble answering this question, you are not the only one. We have found that the majority of organisations are good at performing business and operational planning, although lack in maturity in delivering maximum value from their physical resources. We have found that this stems from the lack of systematic and standardized approach to asset management. You need to ensure that your physical resources and your current approach to managing these resources will deliver the required business value. In order to do this, you need to:
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of your current approach to asset management through an ISO 55001 aligned gap analysis assessment
- Develop an asset management improvement plan
- Implement the asset management improvement plan
Identify the strengths and weaknesses of your current approach to asset management
In order to understand your current state you need to measure yourself against a standardised approach to physical resource management. The standard for measurement that we recommend is the international standard for asset management ISO 55000. We utilise ISO 55000 as a framework for measurement, although our measurement tools go further and incorporate other standards, practices and our experience in delivering asset management and maintenance management solutions.
So how does it work and what do you get?
We come to your place of work
We use your site work schedules and work with you to develop a plan and schedule for our site visits and which personnel we want to see. We work on a tight schedule to optimise on-site face to face time and to have minimal disruption on your operations.
We listen to your people
We perform structured and short interview sessions based on a standard set of questions with people from all levels in your organisation.
We make observations and analyse supporting documents
As part of our process we collect evidentiary documents and make observation during our visits. We review the documents and observations to inform the assessment and measurement process.
We process all the information gathered
We utilise our own software which holds all our standard question sets and input all the information and scoring gathered throughout our site visits. Our software allows us to store all the information and documentation and provides speed in analysis.
We deliver the measurement outcomes and an improvement roadmap
We utilise our software to quickly develop the measurement scores and statistics against the standard benchmark. We collate all the information in a formal report and develop an initial improvement roadmap for your organisation. This report will show your strengths and weaknesses in physical resource management and recommend what needs to be done to get to your end state.
Develop an asset management improvement plan
Working through the initial assessment and road-map for improvement Covaris will work with you and your team to develop a detailed improvement plan. At the heart of the improvement plan is your business goals, your future state for asset management and the Covaris Asset Management Framework (COVAMF).
